Yoga in Uckfield

It is with great joy that I’m launching my vinyasa yoga classes in my hometown of Uckfield this week. We live pretty much opposite Ridgewood Village Hall, Uckfield, which I’ve had my eye on as a venue to teach yoga at since we moved in 2.5 years ago. However, their schedule of regular users seemed impenetrable!

I got a tip off a couple of weeks ago that a spot might be coming up and lost all decorum at the speed with which I launched myself at the hall managers.

I’m calling the new Thursday evening class Vinyasa Flow Yoga, although this is such a broad term. I think a general definition would be ‘breath and movement together, warming, flowing, creative sequencing’. But within that there is a huge spectrum of easy to difficult.

My Tunbridge Wells classes that I taught for 15 years were certainly on the strong side. I had a hard core of regular students who all became like Tuesday evening warriors! Strength and confidence are certainly assets built by a regular practitioner.

But this Thursday, I’ll see who turns up and we will ‘go with the flow’. It will be a very accessible class as I know it will be the first yoga class ever for a couple of those booked in. It’s so exciting to help people start on their yoga journey, knowing what delights are ahead for them. And it’s a great opportunity to dive into the community and meet some of the neighbourhood too.

So if you are ‘yoga curious’, come and dip your toe in. It’s only £5 for a trial session. You will be made to feel very welcome, whatever your previous yoga experience. Thursdays 6.30pm – 7.30pm at Ridgewood Village Hall, Uckfield.
