What is BodyMind Birthing?
Birth is a natural physiological hormone driven reflex, but our minds (our expectations, perceptions and beliefs), our physical preparedness and our environments (and the people in them) also play a role in the route that birth takes.
This course helps you understand the interplay of these 3 elements; your body, your mind and your environment. You will learn 7 powerful tools to help you release fear, balance your nervous system, improve self-belief, prepare your body, optimise your environment, and work with your support team, whether that is at home, in a birth centre or in an obstetric unit.
We meet weekly for 6-weeks of combined cognitive learning and embodied experience, through yoga, breath techniques, meditation & hypnobirth.
You also have a programme of short daily practices to help you embed this knowledge, making sure you are fully prepared for the big day and also the early weeks and months of parenting.
You can do this course alongside more 'traditional’ childbirth education such as NCT or Bump & Baby Club.
It is suitable from around 20 weeks, whether this is your first or subsequent baby.
BIRTH PARTNER WORKSHOPS
The course is complemented with a 3-hour optional extra couples workshop to teach you both the BodyMind Birthing partner methods, including massage, how to use a robozo (Mexican birthing scarf), how to use essential oils, breathing techniques, how to keep the birthing hormones flowing.
JULY 28th 10am - 1pm. £90 per couple.
